The Immune System is a system of complex interactions involving many different organs, structures, and substances including white blood cells, bone marrow, the lymphatic system (spleen, the thymus, the tonsils, lymph nodes, lymph fluid and lymphatic vessels) the appendix, the skin, and serum factors; which are all designed to identify that which is “self” (that naturally belong and in the body) and those that are “nonself” (foreign or otherwise harmful material) and then neutralize or destroy that which is “nonself.”
The body manufactures a powerful enzyme called Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) that it uses to neutralize or destroy that which is “nonself” under the direction of the super oxide dismutase powerful enzyme. However, key nutritional elements must be present within the body for the body to make this enzyme. SOD cannot be provided as a whole, intact, finished nutritional supplement to the body. Its molecular weight and size is too large to pass through the cellular membrane intact. The body must break apart the inappropriate SOD and reconfigure it to meet the body's requirement for molecular weight, size and bioavailabilty to pass through cellular membrane. Once the SOD enzyme is correctly formed it can now recognize invaders that are non self and should not be inside the body and proceeds to destroy and remove the invaders.
